How to fold a bandana : Top 10

Update your look with a bandana or scarf through these new styles!

I remember the first time I wore a bandana: it was for a costume party. I was using it for a Rosie the Riveter costume that my friend and I had bought together.

I attached the headband to my head without much expectation as to the result.

Indeed, until that moment, I considered bandanas to be something that only cowboys wore.

However, once I saw myself in the mirror with it, I was amazed at how stylish it really was, and I realized that it was really a fashion accessory in its own right.

I loved it so much that since that day I have bought more bandanas and wear them regularly.

Although my look consists mostly of wearing the bandana as a simple headband, to accessorize my hairstyle, there are many ways to use it for more style and originality.

Below are 10 ways to wear a trendy bandana in 2021.

1. Bandana: vintage style

Although this bandana scarf gives impressions of Cinderella cleaning up, it's the perfect look for a relaxing day with friends.

To achieve this look, fold the square bandana into a triangle. Fold the long end of the triangle once or twice and tie the ends together. Then simply place it over your head.

Although this look is reminiscent of the princess Cinderella look, it's the perfect way to get your future prince's attention.

2. Classic Headband

You may already know it, but a bandana can make an incredibly elegant headband. It's an easy way to get your hair away from your face while giving you a unique style.

To get this look, fold your square bandana in half and fold it back several times until it's in a thin line.

Tie the bandana at the ends and place it on your head, pulling the ties at the back of your head under or over your hair. You can wear this look when you're shopping, studying or going out with friends.

3. Ponytail

The classic ponytail is one of my favorite hairstyles, but sometimes it needs a refresh. An easy way to do this is to add a fun bandana to your ponytail.

Simply tie your favorite bandana around your ponytail to update this classic style. It's perfect for going to restaurants, classes or even for a date.

4. Bandana: Parisian Girl Style

So your outfit needs something to go with it, but none of your necklaces speak to you? A good way to add a little style to an outfit is to tie a bandana around your neck.

To do this, fold the bandana like you would a headband or bun, but tie the ends around your neck instead. You can tighten it to get a necklace look or leave it long. You can also hide the ends by moving them backwards. This look is a great idea for a fair or shopping day. It also gives off a Parisian vibe!

5. Bandana Attached in front

It takes the look of the headband that existed before, but with a little extra spunk. Instead of tying the ties at the back, attach your bandana to the front.

You can leave the ends dangling or tuck them in. This creates a knot on the top of your head, which is a new way of looking at the bandana. This would be a great style to wear in class, at the carnival or at a casual dinner party.

6. Bandana : cowgirl style

Another option for the bandana necklace look is to become classic, like a cowboy (or a cowgirl!). To achieve this look, fold the bandana into a triangle and tie the ends at the back of your neck. It's perfect for a suit or to hide a shirt or low-cut dress.

It also naturally guides other people's eyes to your face so you can look your best.

7. Bandana Bun

Getting out of bed in the morning can be so difficult and combing your hair in the morning can seem like a chore. The easiest way is to throw them in a quick bun, but why not give the illusion that you woke up more than ten minutes before class by adding a bandana to your little bun?

To achieve this look, simply fold your bandana in half and fold it until it's in line (just like you would for the headband look, #2).

Tie the bandana around your bun like a hair tie and voilà, you can fool your classmates or co-workers into thinking that you've had your beauty sleep and still have time to be on top.

8. Bandana ties around your wrist

Extremely simple to do, it can bring a real plus to your style.

9. Bandana tied at the back of your pocket

Often associated with Hanky code, this style is not limited to that.

So you can wear it simply for fashion and add color to your outfit.

10. Around your bag

If you don't want to physically wear your bandana but still want to use it as a fashion accessory, you can tie it around your bag.

Your standard backpack or handbag will then stand out from the rest. It may be a way to easily find your bag at the airport or to feel a little more elegant when you carry your bag to class or to a party.

Either way, it's a great way to wear your classic bandana.

Although the bandana is mostly found in old western movies, it is a timeless look that can be worn anywhere and anytime.
